The summer transfer window is now just four days away from opening for the first of two times this year.<\/p>\n

Sunday is when the market will be open for all of ten days. The window will then close again for a week until June 16, when it re-opens and runs through to deadline day on September 1.<\/p>\n

The stop-start nature of this summer is due to the Club World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite their lack of involvement in the expanded tournament, it appears Liverpool<\/a> will make the most of this exceptional registration period.<\/p>\n

Ekitike enquiry<\/p>\n

The Reds will reportedly receive an update on Hugo Ekitike over the coming days about the conditions necessary to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt striker.<\/p>\n

GIVEMESPORT<\/a> claims it will cost the club circa \u00a384 million, with the Bundesliga side said to be confident a team will meet their asking price rather than having to lower their demands.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are reputedly behind Chelsea<\/a> among potential suitors after purportedly only showing tentative interest that is not as strong as the Blues.<\/p>\n

Arsenal<\/a> are also said to have shown interest in the France under-21 international amid their apparent focus on Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres.<\/p>\n

Wirtz worry<\/p>\n

Real Madrid<\/a> reportedly still believe they have a chance of signing Florian Wirtz<\/a> ahead of the Reds., with reports saying the club ‘hasn’t lost hope’ of securing a deal.<\/p>\n

AS<\/a> claims the Spanish club are not “throwing in the towel” despite Liverpool’s advantageous position, highlighting new head coach Xabi Alonso<\/a>‘s experience of working with Wirtz at Bayer Leverkusen being a different card Madrid has to play.<\/p>\n

They acknowledge that “the final word has yet to be said” underneath the headline “Wirtz is not impossible”.<\/p>\n

As for Leverkusen, they gave the latest on their star player earlier this week, with managing director Simon Rolfes saying at a press conference: “It’s currently an open subject with Florian.<\/p>\n
