Picante prides itself on bringing a \u201ctaste of Guadalajara\u201d to the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/baltic-triangle\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Baltic Triangle <\/a>hotspot, having now opened its doors to customers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The venture is the brainchild of a collective of the<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> city\u2019s independent hospitality figures<\/a>: Joe Wild (Taco or Don\u2019t), Kate Meehan (Gin Journey), and Sally Jo Whitlow (Jenny\u2019s Bar). They teamed up with Danny Murphy, originally behind Jenny\u2019s Bar and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/were-back-hidden-roof-top-31334209\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Botanical Garden<\/a>, to bring Picante to vibrant life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Found across two floors in the former Dockleaf site, Picante is said to \u201cconjure the essence of Guadalajara and its bustling cantina scene\u201d. The venue\u2019s exterior bursts with bright white and blue and hand-painted signage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Inside, the ground floor will retain the original features of the historic building\u2014formerly a quality control site for <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/incredible-news-business-prepares-open-30950004\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Cains Brewery<\/a>\u2014with its baby blue tiles enhanced with baby pink trim and curated artwork.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_Picante-Tacos.jpg\" alt=\"Picante is found in the former Dockleaf site\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Picante is found in the former Dockleaf site(Image: Picante)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Danny Murphy <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">told the ECHO<\/a>: \u201cPicante is the collective vision from Joe, Kate, Sally and myself. We\u2019ve long wanted to create a Mexican cantina-inspired venue, and the old Dockleaf site in Cains Brewery Village is the perfect place to bring this to life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cOur food menu is focused on flavour-packed tacos and snacks alongside a wonderful range of agave-based cocktails and tequilas. Agave is fast becoming one of the UK\u2019s most popular spirits, and we\u2019re channelling that in Picante and bringing the story to life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cOur aim is to create a high energy, fun and welcoming escape, perfect for the spring and summer months \u2013 Picante means spicy in Spanish, so we\u2019re going to bring some much-needed heat to Liverpool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1744471752_730_0_Picante-Tacos.jpg\" alt=\"Just a small selection of Picante's menu offerings\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Just a small selection of Picante&#8217;s menu offerings(Image: Picante)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The food menu showcases six taco varieties, including Birria, Baja Fish\/Phish and Carne Asada. These will be accompanied by playful bar snacks, including pickles, olives with grapefruit, and smoked salt, and sides such as bag-o-nachos and Elote ribs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The drink offering is a margarita menu featuring frozen, classic and flavoured varieties. This sits alongside a rotating selection of over 40 tequilas and mezcals &#8211; all available by the flight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Mexican beers, classic cocktails, and the statutory Guinness are also available. Starting in May, Picante will host Margarita Masterclasses led by drinks expert Kate for those eager to perfect their cocktail game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Also launching in May, the first floor at Picante will be dedicated to the spirit of Mexican fiesta.
