Wolves are heading towards a transformative summer with Vitor Pereira at the helm as the Portuguese boss targets several positions. <\/strong><\/p>\n

With Matheus Cunha close to joining Manchester United<\/a>, the priority for Pereira<\/a> is to find a replacement for the Brazilian maverick. <\/p>\n

It was revealed earlier this year that Wolves want to sign at least one number 10<\/a>, preferably to fill Cunha\u2019s void, while further reinforcements are required in attacking areas. <\/p>\n

Wolves were linked with Harvey Elliott<\/a> from Liverpool, but supporters were in disbelief that a \u00a340 million price tag<\/a> was slapped on him, despite starting just twice in the Premier League in 2024\/25. <\/p>\n

Pereira could now be looking elsewhere, perhaps for someone cheaper and just as versatile, with one Championship talent ticking the boxes. <\/p>\n

Wolves have a long-standing interest in Sheffield United star Gustavo Hamer. <\/p>\n

In 2023, Wolves tried to sign Hamer<\/a> before he joined the Blades from Coventry City. Gary O\u2019Neil<\/a> was then interested in the 27-year-old after United\u2019s relegation to the second tier. <\/p>\n

Now, after a stunning campaign in which the Brazilian was named the Championship Player of the Year, the Old Gold should go back in for him. <\/p>\n

Sheffield United were beaten 2-1 by Sunderland in the play-off final on Saturday, and Hamer is now destined for a Premier League return. <\/p>\n

Hamer was a cut above everyone else in the division, and as shown by the above statistics, is ready to showcase his talents at the top level once more. <\/p>\n

Vitor Pereira needs Hamer for midfield depth<\/p>\n

For Sheffield United, Hamer has shown he\u2019s an \u2018unbelievable\u2019<\/a> talent and extremely versatile, capable of operating as a deep-lying playmaker, box-to-box, or in attacking midfield. <\/p>\n

Should Wolves capture him, he would be an excellent option for one of Pereira\u2019s number 10 roles, perhaps rivalling the likes of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Marshall Munetsi for a place in the starting lineup. <\/p>\n

More importantly, he would also provide depth to an area of the pitch that is lacking. With Tommy Doyle being admired by Championship clubs<\/a> and destined to leave alongside the out-of-favour Boubacar Traore, adding Hamer to their roster would offer serious competition. <\/p>\n
