It’s bewildered Haim fans who have said they are ‘besides myself’ over the revelation for the band’s new single<\/p>\n

From the West Didsbury house featured in Oasis\u2019 Definitely Maybe to the front of Salford<\/a> Lads Club with The Smiths, Manchester has a long history of appearing on music artwork.<\/p>\n

But, despite the great connection between music and this city, it still manages to catch us off guard when anywhere in Greater Manchester is used as a backdrop for a big release. Case in point: the new single from American pop-rock act Haim.<\/p>\n

The sister trio, who performed at BBC Radio 1\u2019s Big Weekend in Liverpool last weekend<\/a>, are gearing up for the release of their fourth album I Quit next month and will be releasing new single Take Me Back on Friday.<\/p>\n

But sharing the cover art for the new release, fans couldn\u2019t quite take their eyes off not only a number of references featured in the imagery but also the location of choice – seemingly taking over an area near Piccadilly Gardens<\/a> in the city centre for the paparazzi-inspired photo.<\/p>\n

The cover for the single features the three sisters walking through the street, with the likes of Don Tacos and One Piccadilly Gardens quite easily recognisable in the background. Sharing their disbelief at the choice of location used, one fan said: \u201cOmg not near Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester take me back to uni lmao!\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201comg big up Piccadilly Gardens.\u201d One other fan commented: \u201cNever did i ever think i\u2019d see a Haim single cover shot in Manchester Piccadilly x\u201d. One other asked: \u201cWhat the hell are you doing on Portland Street? I am beside myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans also took to social media to share their delight at the band representing W H Smith, with Alana carrying a bag from the shop. One person asked: \u201cAm deaddd why\u2019s she got a WHSmith bag n all?\u201d Responding to them, another said: \u201cNeeded a 10 pack of biros hun.\u201d<\/p>\n

The photo, like the rest of Haim\u2019s recent single covers, also makes reference to a famous paparazzi shot – with sisters Danielle and Alana replicating an iconic photo taken of Keira Knightly and Jamie Dornan in the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

Featuring similar outfits, including low-rise jeans and dramatic scarves, the sisters perfectly replicate the celebrity pair\u2019s 2004 pose with slouchy finesse. Sister Este represents a passerby who was captured in the photo, which led fans to speculate at the time whose hands they belonged to.<\/p>\n

One fan said of the photo: \u201cMe when I\u2019m the coolest band in the world giving the best visuals ever.\u201d Another said: \u201cthey even pulled off the random \u201cwhose hand is that and how\u201d pose. That\u2019s a deep cut.\u201d Another joked: \u201cMe when i get off the 192 on my way to clock into work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their most recent single covers have also made references to the likes of the 2001 snap of Nicole Kidman seemingly looking joyous in an L.A. street – rumoured to have been taken right after she signed divorce papers with Tom Cruise – and a 2000 pap pic of Kate Moss leaning against a black SUV.<\/p>\n
