The rock band Slade is set to embark on a final tour with a hometown gig in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dave Hill’s Slade will perform at the O2 Academy 2 on December 20, marking the end of an era for the local act.<\/p>\n

The four-piece, known for hits like Cum On Feel The Noize and the enduring Christmas<\/a> anthem Merry Xmas Everybody, will play ten dates in the run-up to Christmas, culminating in a show at the O2 Ritz in Manchester.<\/p>\n

Slade was fronted by Walsall<\/a> singer Noddy Holder until he departed the line-up in 1992.<\/p>\n

Founding member Dave Hill, who was raised in Wolverhampton, has continued to keep the legacy alive.<\/p>\n

Billed as the final tour, Dave Hill’s Slade will be joined on the road by Sons of the Seventies, who perform classics from the era.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Slade has enjoyed 23 top ten singles and six number ones.<\/p>\n

Their touring career began in 1966 and by 1971, Slade had its first chart his covering the Bobby Marchan song Gert Down and Get With It. Coz I Luv You topped the charts that same year.<\/p>\n

Dave Hill will be joined on tour by fellow band members John Berry, Russell Keefe and Alex Bines.<\/p>\n

The tour will take them to Hastings, Margate, Holmfirth, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Oxford, London and Newcastle before Birmingham and Manchester.<\/p>\n
