Manchester United<\/a> have been handed a major update regarding the future of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.<\/p>\n

United have been linked with a move for Eze over the last 12 months as the summer transfer window nears. Eze played a key role in helping Palace win the FA Cup<\/a>, scoring the winning goal against Manchester City<\/a> in the final at Wembley Stadium.<\/p>\n

Eze’s performances over the last couple of seasons have seen him heavily linked with a move away from Palace. United have been mentioned as a potential destination in the past, and now a fresh update has emerged about Eze’s future.<\/p>\n

The Mirror has reported that Bayern Munich are now showing an interest in signing Eze. Crucially for United, though, the report provides an update on the fee which may be needed to agree a deal.<\/p>\n

It has been claimed that Palace are determined to keep Eze at Selhurst Park, although the player will have a release clause in his contract. The figure in the clause is reported to be \u00a360million plus a further \u00a38million in add-ons.<\/p>\n

If United do express an interest in activating the clause, the report states that this will expire before the transfer window closes.<\/p>\n

Deadline day for this summer is September 1, and it has been claimed the \u00a368million total release clause will expire two weeks before this date, so effectively in mid-August.<\/p>\n

The Manchester Evening News<\/a> reported in September last year that Eze is a player of interest to United heading into the upcoming summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

United were monitoring the England international with a view to potentially completing a deal this summer, with the club provisionally targeting a defender, midfielder and a winger heading into the 2025\/26 season.<\/p>\n
