{"id":142018,"date":"2025-05-29T18:03:10","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T18:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/142018\/"},"modified":"2025-05-29T18:03:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T18:03:10","slug":"desperate-search-for-glasgow-man-who-disappeared-in-portugal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/142018\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Desperate&#8217; search for Glasgow man who disappeared in Portugal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A \u2018desperate\u2019 search is underway for a Glasgow man who has gone missing in Portugal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Greg Monks was last seen leaving the main strip in Albufeira in the Algarve region on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old is said to have arrived in the resort town on the same night, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.stv.tv\/west-central\/desperate-search-launched-for-scot-38-who-disappeared-on-night-out-in-algarve\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:STV reports;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">STV reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He has not been seen since, and his family say it is\u00a0\u2018not like him to do this\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on Facebook, Greg\u2019s sister Jillian Monks said: \u201cMy brother is missing in Albufeira and has not been seen since Tuesday night\/Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyone who is there or has any information, please message. Feel free to share on platforms. He is 38 years old.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has been reported to the police, the hotel, and the embassy. Please share any information.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are desperate \u2013 it is not like him to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth &amp; Development Office said: \u201cWe are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Portugal and are in contact with the local authorities\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A \u2018desperate\u2019 search is underway for a Glasgow man who has gone missing in Portugal.
