{"id":142427,"date":"2025-05-29T21:39:14","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T21:39:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/142427\/"},"modified":"2025-05-29T21:39:14","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T21:39:14","slug":"australian-woman-does-over-7000-pull-ups-in-24-hours-to-almost-double-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/142427\/","title":{"rendered":"Australian woman does over 7,000 pull ups in 24 hours to almost double record"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An Australian woman almost doubled a pull-ups record in an awe-inspiring display of strength.<\/p>\n<p>Olivia Vinson smashed the <strong>most pull ups in 24 hours (female)<\/strong> with an unbelievable total of 7,079.<\/p>\n<p>Her attempt, from 29-30 March, beat the previous record of 4,081 set by Paula Gorlo (Poland) in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Super fit Olivia, 34, said: \u201cI was looking for a bigger challenge and my husband and coach actually suggested 24 hours of pull ups, which I initially, quite literally, laughed at because I thought there was no way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI looked up what the current record was, which was 4,081, and again I thought, \u2018there\u2019s no way\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a little while, I did some maths on it and I thought maybe I could.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/female-24-hour-pull-ups-olivia-on-the-bar.jpg\" alt=\"Olivia doing a pull up\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"\/><\/p>\n<p>She trained for three months before taking on her first attempt at the record in September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>She made it halfway before injury scuppered her chances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got about 12 hours in it and I pulled a bicep tendon in my let arm, which meant at that point I couldn\u2019t even do single pull up,\u201d Olivia said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/female-24-hour-pull-ups-olivia-posing.jpg\" alt=\"Olivia posing for a picture\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"\/><\/p>\n<p>She rested for two months, allowing her tendon to repair before getting back to her training.<\/p>\n<p>After another few months of hard work and a 12-hour practice run, it was time to tackle the record once and for all.<\/p>\n<p>Olivia set up a timer that would go off in her ear every 45 seconds and printed out a schedule of reps\u00a0that she\u00a0hung that up next to her, so she knew how many she was supposed to be doing in each round.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/female-24-hour-pull-ups-olivia-side-view.jpg\" alt=\"side view of Olivia doing pull ups\" width=\"684\" height=\"450\"\/><\/p>\n<p>She was incredibly prepared, but that doesn\u2019t mean it all went smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>She told us: \u201c19 hours in, I started to feel quite nauseous and I think it was just from being over-tired, and it was something I had to just manage as best as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy concern was whether my body would hold out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Olivia\u2019s incredible performance averaged out at about five pull ups every minute over the 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/female-24-hour-pull-ups-olivia-with-her-chin-above-the-bar.jpg\" alt=\"Olivia with her chin above the bar\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"\/><\/p>\n<p>And breaking the record has changed her outlook on life.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cI\u2019ve achieved a number that I genuinely didn\u2019t think was possible for me when I first came into this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there is something deeply human about pushing boundaries and I think world records create a very tangible marker for human potential.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoving forward, this literally forces me to question everything that I don\u2019t believe that I can do.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An Australian woman almost doubled a pull-ups record in an awe-inspiring display of strength.
