Expecting the Champagne Classic form to stand up. Gallo Nero (2) covered extra ground and beat all but Cool Archie (3) last start. He is drawn slightly better here, will appreciate 1400m on a big track and with Tommy Berry will be hard to hold out.<\/p>\n

Kind Words (7) (in the Lucia Valentina colours) was beaten three lengths in the Prov\/Midway Final. She paid a big price for her 15 of 15 draw there at Randwick a fortnight later. As for last start, she drew wide again and came from a mile back again to finish inches off the winner, in third. Deserves a win; can see why she is favourite here.<\/p>\n

Madiyya (2) should continue on her winning way here. She was dominant winning at Sale two-back and then flew home to score over 1400m here last start. Third in that race was Ahha Ahha who absolutely bolted in last Saturday, so it’s hard to knock the form.<\/p>\n

Value with Bubba’s Bay (5) which didn’t flatter on a heavy track at Hawkesbury but goes best second-up and loves this track and distance. She won a recent trial, will appreciate a firm surface and Andrew Mallyon knows how to ride her.<\/p>\n

First Light (6) shares an honour roll with the likes of Carbine, Phar Lap, Wakeful, Flight, Gunsynd and others as a Colin Stephen winner. He actually ran rather well in a Metropolitan too which suggests he is more a 2400m horse he’s only third-up into the prep and on a positive trajectory despite what the form guide suggests. <\/p>\n
