Launched by National Rail, the <strong>Musical Routes \u2013 Behind the Tracks map<\/strong> contains hundreds of places featured in the <strong>songs, <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/things-to-do-for-music-lovers\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/things-to-do-for-music-lovers\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_0\" data-category=\"click_internal\">music<\/a> artwork and music videos of Britain\u2019s favourite artists<\/strong> \u2013 with dozens of places across Manchester and the North West featured.<\/p>\n<p>Would you believe us if we told you that big name artists like <strong>Timbaland<\/strong>,<strong> Liam Gallagher <\/strong>and<strong> Ed Sheeran<\/strong> have used Manchester as the backdrop for their music videos? Yeah, neither would we, but it\u2019s true!<\/p>\n<p>According to the Musical Routes map, a lock-up garage on <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/things-to-do-in-salford\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/things-to-do-in-salford\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_1\" data-category=\"click_internal\">Salford<\/a>\u2018s <strong>Chapel Street<\/strong> was the setting for the music video for the Timbaland hit The Way I Are, and<strong> The Midland Hotel<\/strong> was used as a key location for the music video to Better Days by Liam Gallagher. Plus, suburbs such as <strong>New Moston<\/strong> are also included on the map, which featured in the music video for Take Me Back to London by Ed Sheeran.<\/p>\n<p>The new map features other locations in and around Manchester with a connection to iconic artists such as <strong>Ian Brown<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/oasis-new-dates\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/oasis-new-dates\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_3\" data-category=\"click_internal\">Oasis<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>Zayn Malik<\/strong>, <strong>The Smiths<\/strong>, <strong>The Courteeners<\/strong> and many more. The guides cover<strong> key geographical areas of Britain<\/strong> and reveal the links they have with a range of homegrown and international acts \u2013 plus how music fans can explore these locations by train.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester of course features again \u2013 with an insightful and revealing musical guide to Manchester, <a href=\"https:\/\/secretliverpool.co\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretliverpool.co\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_8\" data-category=\"click_cross\">Liverpool<\/a> and the North West. Rail travellers can <strong>hear the stories that go behind the record stores, streets and railways<\/strong> that inspired Northern legends from Oasis to the Beatles.
