Officials have now set the exact date and location for the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">This is the second main <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/eid\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Eid<\/a> in the Islamic calendar, following Eid ul Fitr at the end of March.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Eid ul Fitr is the festival of breaking the fast, marking the end of Ramadan&#8217;s daily fasting. In contrast, Eid ul Adha is the festival of the sacrifice, symbolising faith and devotion to God and involving the ritual slaughter of livestock for feasts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The city&#8217;s Eid in the Park events grew to be the largest in Europe, with thousands attending. In 2018, a record number of 140,000 worshippers went to Birmingham&#8217;s Eid ul Fitr gathering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">This year&#8217;s <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/gallery\/eid-ul-fitr-2025-celebrations-31314175\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Eid ul Fitr gathering in Birmingham<\/a> was on March 30, with 10,000 people attending. A similar get-together is now to be held for Eid ul Adha.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre (GLMCC), which organises the &#8216;Eid in the Park&#8217; events, has announced that it is planning huge celebrations of Eid ul Adha 2025 in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/bordesley-green-and-small-heath\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Small Heath<\/a> Park, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a>, on Friday, June 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">GLMCC bases its dates on the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/eid-ul-adha-2025-announced-31735497\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Eid announcements made in Saudi Arabia<\/a> rather than those <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/eid-ul-adha-2025-uk-31737738\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">in the UK<\/a>. This year, both sets of dates were the same, though <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/full-list-eid-ul-adha-31740016\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">some other countries will not observe Eid ul Adha until the day after, June 7.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A GLMCC spokesman said: &#8220;Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Friday, 6th June 2025. Green Lane Masjid is preparing to celebrate Eid al-Adha in Small Heath Park. Let&#8217;s pray the warm and dry weather holds.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Worshippers are asked to arrive at the park from 8.15am for the Eid prayer, which will begin at 9am sharp. They should bring their own prayer mats, chairs and water bottles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">People are urged to walk to the site or share cars to avoid parking problems and congestion in the area. Free and unlimited parking for the event is on offer at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/morrisons\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Morrisons<\/a>, Small Heath. Do not park on double yellow lines or block residents&#8217; driveways and footpaths, organisers urged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Children are encouraged to attend as long as they are supervised by their parents and come to participate in prayers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">If the weather is bad or the ground is too boggy from recent rain, prayers will be moved indoors to Green Lane Masjid.
