Eamonn Holmes<\/a> asked fans to ‘think of him’ after sharing a sad update on his health<\/a> on social media. The former This Morning<\/a> presenter, 65, was recently taken to the hospital after falling off his chair while presenting the GB News Breakfast show with his co-host Ellie Costello.<\/p>\n

A crash could be heard while the camera was focused on their guest, commentator Charlie Rowley. Ellie could be heard saying \u201coh my gosh\u201d off-screen, and Eamonn pleaded with Charlie to \u201ccarry on\u201d before the presenter returned to the show following a break. The presenter has been working hard on his rehabilitation after undergoing spinal surgery in 2022 for chronic back pain caused by three slipped discs.<\/p>\n

Over the last year, he has been seen using a walking aid and a wheelchair as his mobility has become affected. A week after falling off his chair on GB News, the star took to Instagram<\/a> to reminisce about when he was healthier.<\/p>\n

He shared a snap of himself rocking a white shirt, black trousers, matching tie and a black overcoat as he stood with his hands in his pockets ready to present a news segment.<\/p>\n

Eamonn said: “This pic tells me this was 3 years ago in my Home City of Belfast. I was making a big extravaganza featuring The Ulster Orchestra and Film and TV music associated with famous producers.<\/p>\n

“It actually made me very sad looking at it because I could walk then and can\u2019t now . I pray to God and the new Docs that I am seeing that all will change and change soon . Keep you posted and please think of me.”<\/p>\n

Fans and friends immediately shared their well wishes, with one user writing: “Hang in there. Am sure it\u2019s incredibly hard and dispiriting; but here\u2019s hoping that better days are to come.”<\/p>\n

Another said: “This was my very first TV gig and it was such a special privilege to work with you Eamonn, you gave me amazing support and solid advice at working in the industry. Wishing you all the very best in your healing and thank you for being an inspiration.”<\/p>\n

“I hope they can help you Eamonn. I\u2019m recovering from spinal surgery. It\u2019s a long haul to recover but worth it. Sending positive thoughts for a good outcome for you,” another said.<\/p>\n

When he fell off his chair on TV, he joked about the ‘wonky wheels’ at the studio. Following an ad break, Eamonn said: “Welcome back. Good to see you again. Especially good for me to see you again. I am still alive, yes.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they\u2019re very wonky wheels on chairs that we\u2019ve got here, and matter of fact, we don\u2019t really like the chairs full stop, do we? They\u2019re a bit slippy and slidey and I\u2019ve slipped and slid off mine there.\u201cNot the first guest to have done so, we\u2019ve had a few, they have to remain nameless because they\u2019re well known people, but they\u2019ve hit the floor really badly, quite frightening.\u201cAnd it was a bit of a shock for me because I\u2019ve had a fall in my bathroom two weeks ago, which hospitalised me, and that hit me again right in the back. (I\u2019m) really, really sore. Really sore.\u201d<\/p>\n
