Bristol music legend Roni Size is the final headliner to be announced for a new West Country festival – and he’s promising to bring “Bristol energy to the stage”. The drum & bass pioneer will play a “one-of-a-kind summer set” at Lake Paradiso Festival 2025.<\/p>\n
The festival, running from August 1 to 3<\/a> at Nesta Camping on Chew Valley Lake, Nesta Magna will also see appearances from Trevor Nelson, Norman Jay, Huey Morgan and disco-funk royalty Odyssey.<\/p>\n Organisers say Roni\u2019s journey from Bristol youth club sets to global acclaim has “inspired generations”. They called his influence on UK dance music “unmatched”.<\/p>\n They added: “Roni\u2019s return to the stage for Lake Paradiso marks a celebration of the past, present and future of drum and bass – all rooted in the city where it started.<\/p>\n “This performance is not only a full-circle moment but a high-voltage reminder of why his legacy continues to lead the way.”<\/p>\n Luke Hasell, festival director at Lake Paradiso, said: \u201cRoni Size is one of Bristol\u2019s proudest exports – a true architect of sound. We couldn\u2019t think of a more iconic artist to headline the first Lake Paradiso.”<\/p>\n Roni added: “Bristol\u2019s music scene shaped who I am, so any chance to represent that at a festival like Lake Paradiso is something I take seriously.<\/p>\n Sign up to receive our What’s On in Bristol newsletter<\/a> for all the latest on things to do and places to eat<\/strong><\/p>\n “It\u2019s not every day you get to share a line up with legends like Huey Morgan, Norman Jay, and Trevor Nelson – people who\u2019ve each played a massive part in the UK\u2019s musical story.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m proud to be part of that and to bring some of that Bristol energy to the stage.”<\/p>\n Roni’s set will also raise funds for Bristol-based charity Temwa, which works with remote communities in Northern Malawi. It is the festival’s official charity partner.<\/p>\n Jo Hook, co-founder and director at Temwa, said: \u201cIt means a lot to be Lake Paradiso\u2019s charity partner. We\u2019ve always believed in the power of people coming together to make a difference and this feels like a great fit.<\/p>\n “Roni Size actually played at one of our fundraising nights a while back, so it\u2019s brilliant to be working alongside him again – just in a very different setting.
