{"id":145102,"date":"2025-05-30T21:23:14","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T21:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/145102\/"},"modified":"2025-05-30T21:23:14","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T21:23:14","slug":"leeds-united-eyeing-a-raid-on-wolves-as-49ers-identify-priority-premier-league-target","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/145102\/","title":{"rendered":"Leeds United eyeing a raid on Wolves as 49ers identify priority Premier League target"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>One of the key positions for Leeds United to ensure they get right this summer is in the goalkeeping position, with Illan Meslier in need of replacing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old is out of contract next summer, and a parting of ways perhaps makes sense at this stage of his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/club\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds United<\/a>\u00a0career. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/phil-hay-claims-one-leeds-united-player-is-done-at-elland-road-and-the-49ers-will-sell-him\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phil Hay thinks Meslier is done at Leeds<\/a>\u00a0and a new starting option is needed.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the 2024\/25 season it was reported that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/premier-league-star-desperate-to-leave-current-club-in-2025-and-leeds-united-could-get-him-on-the-cheap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds were interested in signing Liverpool\u2019s Caoimhin Kelleher<\/a>. However,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/brentford-make-their-move-to-sign-player-who-leeds-united-have-already-asked-about-its-over-for-daniel-farke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brentford\u2019s Kelleher interest is strong<\/a>\u00a0of late.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, we exclusively revealed that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/leeds-united-have-made-enquiries-to-sign-40m-liverpool-player-this-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds enquired about signing Kelleher<\/a>\u00a0this summer. But Liverpool are understood to be asking for around \u00a330 million for the Republic of Ireland international.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2208646252-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Wolverhampton Wanderers FC\/Wolves via Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-81481\" \/>Photo by Wolverhampton Wanderers FC\/Wolves via Getty ImagesSam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale emerge as options for Leeds United<\/p>\n<p>Speaking recently,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/liverpool-star-suggests-hes-now-set-to-leave-after-interest-from-leeds-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kelleher said he\u2019s ready to have a fresh start away from Liverpool<\/a>\u00a0and to get regular first-team football in the Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>However, that sort of asking price could mean Leeds eye other alternatives.
