THE King has come out all guns blazing \u2014 because his royal estate is running out of pheasants to shoot.<\/p>\n

Charles, 76<\/a>, was said to be livid over a series of blunders that left the game bird numbers dwindling at Sandringham.<\/p>\n

He even faces calling off his annual Boxing Day shoot<\/a> \u2014 and a long-serving gamekeeper at the Norfolk<\/a> estate has been given the boot.<\/p>\n

A source said: \u201cIt was a total cock-up. No birds, no bang, just red faces.<\/p>\n

“The King wasn\u2019t having it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandringham<\/a> is one of the few remaining wild shoots<\/a> in the country, meaning the game is reared where it is shot. <\/p>\n

The King, who backs traditional countryside practices, has been reluctant to release birds from breeders to get numbers up.<\/p>\n

But maintaining a more eco-friendly wild shoot has proved challenging, leaving pheasant numbers in decline.<\/p>\n

There are now fears royals will be left twiddling their trigger fingers on Boxing Day<\/a> as the annual shoot \u2014 a firm family favourite \u2014 is in doubt.<\/p>\n

The occasion is seen as a rare chance for family bonding, despite protests from animal rights campaigners who particularly dislike children taking part.<\/p>\n

The ousted keeper, who ran the estate\u2019s game for years, has been shown the door. <\/p>\n

Our source said: \u201cLet\u2019s just say he\u2019s well and truly plucked off.\u201d<\/p>\n
