Three teenage boys have appeared in court for the first time after a 15-year-old was stabbed in Cribbs Causeway this week.<\/p>\n
The trio, all aged 16, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 28 after being charged in connection with the incident on Monday, May 26.<\/p>\n
Police said the victim remains in hospital in a stable condition after he was attacked between The Mall and The Venue at around 5.40pm on the bank holiday.<\/p>\n
The teenage suspects cannot legally be identified because of their age.<\/p>\n
One boy, who was charged with attempted murder, possession of a bladed article in a public place and affray was remanded into youth detention pending a further hearing at Bristol Crown Court on June 25. He did not enter a plea.<\/p>\n
A second boy admitted offences of affray and possessing an offensive weapon (a knuckleduster). He was released on conditional court bail until a sentencing hearing at Bristol Magistrates\u2019 Court on June 25.<\/p>\n
A third boy pleaded not guilty to charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and affray. He was released on conditional court bail until a further hearing at Bristol Magistrates\u2019 Court on June 18.<\/p>\n
Investigations continue into the incident and detectives have since questioned two teenagers suspected of being part of a larger group who ran from the scene.<\/p>\n
They have both been released on bail with conditions not to contact anyone involved and not to go to Cribbs Causeway.<\/p>\n
Neighbourhood Inspector Barny Mabbett said: \u201cMy team has been carrying out uniformed reassurance patrols in and around Cribbs Causeway since the attack.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re now liaising with the local authority to reassure local schools and parents after the half-term break.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you suspect a child you care for was part of the group at Cribbs Causeway on Bank Holiday Monday, I urge you to do the right thing and come forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
