{"id":146511,"date":"2025-05-31T10:01:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-31T10:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/146511\/"},"modified":"2025-05-31T10:01:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-31T10:01:08","slug":"oliver-christian-is-the-uks-new-trade-rep-in-philly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/146511\/","title":{"rendered":"Oliver Christian is the UK\u2019s new trade rep in Philly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                    More business between the commonwealth and the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>There are about 55,000 workers across Pennsylvania who work for 850 different U.K.-based companies, Christian said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a really strong supply chain between the United Kingdom, the U.S. and Pennsylvania,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the U.K. is the fourth-largest export market for companies in Pennsylvania. And with projects like the GSK facility, U.K. companies are the largest foreign investors in the commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania companies, in turn, are investing in U.K. communities.<\/p>\n<p>In March, Malvern-based Vishay Intertechnology <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techmonitor.ai\/hardware\/silicon\/vishay-intertechnology-commits-250m-investment-in-welsh-semiconductor-fab#:~:text=Silicon-,Vishay%20Intertechnology%20commits%20%C2%A3250m%20investment%20in%20Welsh%20semiconductor%20fab,the%20government&#039;s%20Plan%20for%20Change.&amp;text=Rachel%20Reeves%20has%20formally%20announced,motors%2C%20increasing%20overall%20vehicle%20range.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced it would invest $337 million in the U.K.\u2019s largest semiconductor plant<\/a>, known as the Newport Wafer Fab.
