Former England cricketer Matthew Hoggard has forged a completely new career running a barbecue school.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 67-Test bowler was integral in England’s epic 2005 Ashes victory in a superb career that spanned nearly two decades.<\/p>\n

‘Hoggy’ has forged a new career running a barbecue school<\/p>\n

But ‘Hoggy’ has swapped his cricket whites for an apron and now runs a cookery school and grill shop. <\/p>\n

Chatting with Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour on talkSPORT Breakfast<\/a>, Hoggard spoke about his new campaign with Australian wine brand. Andrew Peace.<\/p>\n

“I’m massively into my barbecues obviously,” said Hoggard.<\/p>\n

“I run a barbecue school, Hoggy’s Grill school.<\/p>\n

“We’ve teamed up with Andrew Peace, which forgive him, is a Australian.<\/p>\n

“But he makes delicious wine, we all know there is great wine in Australia.<\/p>\n

“He’s come over and we’ve done some research on barbecues.”<\/p>\n

The former Test cricket<\/a> turn celebrity chef explained the stress of barbecuing and what typically goes wrong. <\/p>\n

“We’re rushed to supermarkets,” said Hoggard.<\/p>\n

“We spend so much money on three different starters, three different mains course.<\/p>\n

“We’re really stressed out, we have blacked chicken on the outside, raw in the middle.<\/p>\n

“We’ve burnt out sausages, we’ve burnt our burgers. We have stressful times.<\/p>\n

“We’ve teamed up for a great menu, where for 30 quid you can feed a family of four with a delicious bottle of Andrew Peace wine.”<\/p>\n

Hoggard represented England for eight years and played in all five Tests in the iconic 2005 Ashes series. <\/p>\n

He dismissed the very best Australia<\/a> had to offer, taking 16 wickets and achieving a best score of 4\/97 at the final game at The Oval.<\/p>\n

However, it was his batting performance at Trent Bridge in 2005 that turned him and Ashley Giles into unlikely heroes.<\/p>\n

Hoggard now runs a bbq school<\/p>\n

England needed 129 to win the fourth Test and take a 2-1 lead in the series, but the Aussie reduced them to 116-7.<\/p>\n

Giles and Hoggard came to cease and successfully secured the final 13 runs needed taking take England up in the series, with ‘Hoggy’ even hitting a four off a full toss. <\/p>\n

Hoggard retired from cricket in 2013 after captaining Leicestershire since 2010, having spent 13 years before that playing for Yorkshire. <\/p>\n

The former bowler said England’s performance against the West Indies<\/a> at Edgbaston yesterday was ‘awesome’.<\/p>\n
