As the weather warms up, it is time to take the kids outside.<\/p>\n

Forget about soft plays, museums and indoor play cafe; the moment the sun is out, parenting<\/a> is best done outside.<\/p>\n

I enjoy taking my two-and-a-half-year-old to new places so, when some friends were heading over to Bath Soft Cheese a couple of weeks ago, I thought I would give it a try.<\/p>\n

Heading over mid-morning, the drive there took about half an hour from Easton<\/a>. Once we got there, there was plenty of parking available and the two toddlers I was responsible for headed straight for the nearby playground.<\/p>\n

While not the biggest of playgrounds, it had a swing, a slide and a climbing frame – plenty to keep them entertained for a while.<\/p>\n

We then headed over to the cafe for a hot drink and to meet my friends. While these were surprisingly slow to arrive, the children were thankfully entertained eating snacks, playing with some toys we brought with us and particularly some chickens that are kept nearby.<\/p>\n

Next time, when I am not rushed by children, I will make sure to try the famous cheese this spot is known for.<\/p>\n

Bath Soft Cheese also has a small play room at the top of the barn where the cows are kept. There is a wide range of toys and, most importantly, there is a large glass overlooking the cows; our children loved looking at them.<\/p>\n

We finished our time at Bath Soft Cheese by taking a short walk around a couple of fields. Several walks can be started from this spot<\/a>, but keeping in mind the short legs of most of our group we just went for a short loop.<\/p>\n

We certainly made the right decision there as the last stretch of the walk was hard work in parenting terms.<\/p>\n

Eventually making it back to the car with two exhausted toddlers after a busy morning, they both fell asleep within minutes after a lovely day out.<\/p>\n
