{"id":146955,"date":"2025-05-31T14:03:10","date_gmt":"2025-05-31T14:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/146955\/"},"modified":"2025-05-31T14:03:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-31T14:03:10","slug":"m8-shut-near-glasgow-after-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/146955\/","title":{"rendered":"M8 shut near Glasgow after crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A crash has closed two lanes of the M8 near Glasgow, with police at the scene and traffic building in the area<a class=\"AuthorLink_author-link__rg5qj\" data-tmdatatrack=\"author\" data-testid=\"byline-author\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/authors\/emma-oneill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Emma O&#8217;Neill<\/strong><\/a> Assistant Live News Editor and <strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35 __className_822b4e\">Jonathan Blackburn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>13:21, 31 May 2025<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_GsRa8EyXsAA4-Lo.jpg\" alt=\"Crash M8.\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>The scene of the crash on the M8.(Image: Traffic Scotland)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Motorists on the M8 near Glasgow are facing lengthy delays following a collision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The crash has resulted in two lanes being blocked on the M8 westbound at junction 27 for Paisley and Renfrew.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Police officers are currently at the scene, with heavy traffic also reported eastbound due to rubbernecking drivers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The tailback extends approximately three miles back into Glasgow to junction 25 for Cardonald and the Clyde Tunnel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The incident took place around 11.50am, reports <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowlive.co.uk\/news\/glasgow-news\/m8-disruption-near-glasgow-police-31761459\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Glasgow Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Traffic Scotland issued a statement via social media, stating: &#8220;Lanes Two and Three (Of Three) are currently blocked on the M8 Westbound at J27 due to a collision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Police are now on scene, although traffic is beginning to build in the area so please take care.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">According to Inrix, a traffic monitoring service, there are queues forming westbound and eastbound traffic &#8220;is also slow due to onlookers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/?view=Solus&amp;mailingListId=8e821752-8778-4a0d-9692-26e3f253e856&amp;utm_source=solusarticle\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Don&#8217;t miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond &#8211;
