EDINBURGH RUGBY have announced a hat-trick on contract renewals at stand-off, with Scotland internationals Ross Thompson and Ben Healy, along with emerging talent Cammy Scott, all agreeing terms with the capital club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thompson and Scott have signed on the dotted line for two more years, while Healy\u2019s deal will run for 12 more months through to next summer.<\/p>\n

This announcement comes a day after it was revealed that Scotland utility-forward Dylan Richardson<\/strong> will join the club from the Sharks in the summer, as the team gears up for Saturday lunchtime\u2019s EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 clash against the Bulls at Hive Stadium. Thompson has featured for the club in every competitive game so far this season, with 15 starts and four appearances off the bench, following his move east along the M8 from Glasgow Warriors last summer. The 25-year-old Edinburgh-born playmaker was nominated for the March Scottish Building Society Player of the Month, having already picked up the award in October.<\/p>\n

\u201cExtending my contract with Edinburgh was an easy decision,\u201d said Thompson. \u201cComing back to the city where I was born and raised, and making it my home again, has been fantastic.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m growing in confidence with every game I play, and the support from the fans and the team has been incredible. To achieve something special with this club, in my hometown, would mean the world to me. I played all my school rugby in Edinburgh, so to be back and contributing to the team\u2019s success is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Head coach Sean Everitt<\/strong> said: \u201cRoss has been a fantastic addition to the squad. His impact since joining the club has been significant, and it\u2019s been great to see him grow in confidence throughout the season. He\u2019s a smart player with a great kicking game and excellent distribution.<\/p>\n

Scott, meanwhile, has managed five bench appearances for the club this season, amounting to just 32 minutes of game-time in total, but Everitt believes the 23-year-old Edinburgh-native and former age-grade international has shown in those fleeting moments on the pitch and whilst playing for the \u2018A\u2019 team that he is now ready to kick-on at senior pro level, having previously cut his teeth in the adult game playing Super6\/Series for Boroughmuir Bears and Southern Knights.<\/p>\n

\u201cCammy has shown tremendous hard work and resilience,\u201d said Everitt. \u201cIt\u2019s always special to see local lads representing their city, and Cammy embodies that spirit. He\u2019s a player with a bright future and we\u2019re excited to see him continue to develop within our environment. He is one to watch for the future and we are looking forward to seeing his continued growth over the next two seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott said: \u201cI\u2019m incredibly proud to re-sign with Edinburgh Rugby. This is my home and representing this club means everything to me.<\/p>\n

25-year-old Healy joined Edinburgh from Munster ahead of the 2023-24 campaign and started in all 23 fixtures during his debut season, amassing 218 points.<\/p>\n

He has featured in 14 games this season and having recently recovered from a knee injury he has returned to contention for the home stretch of the campaign, with Edinburgh Rugby hoping to secure a place in the URC play-offs and progress to the EPCR Challenge Cup semi-finals by beating Bulls on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve loved my time at Edinburgh Rugby so far and I\u2019m really happy to extend my stay for another year. I love the city and I feel like I\u2019ve developed as a player since joining from Munster. I still feel like I\u2019ve got so much more to give, and I\u2019m determined to play a big role in what promises to be an exciting end to the campaign,\u201d said Healy.<\/p>\n

Everitt added: \u201cBen has been a fantastic addition to the squad since joining in 2023. His abilities and experience have been invaluable. He\u2019s still a young player with a lot of potential and we believe there\u2019s much more to come from him.<\/p>\n
