We are a nation of fast food lovers – and three big name brands have dominated the takeaway scene ever since they first arrived in the UK. McDonald’s<\/a>, KFC<\/a> and Burger King are all huge international chains with numerous locations across Liverpool – but how clean are the restaurants?<\/p>\n The ECHO<\/a> refined the hygiene ratings to focus solely on every McDonald’s, KFC and Burger King establishment within the region covered by Liverpool Council.<\/p>\n The list includes city centre sites on Lord Street and Ranelagh Street, as well as retail park establishments on the New Mersey Retail Park and Hunts Cross Shopping Park.<\/p>\n \u200c\u200cFood hygiene inspections are carried out by Liverpool Council<\/a>\u2019s environmental health service in order to ensure food served to the public is safe to eat. Officers can turn up unannounced and can take food samples and photographs to support any investigation.<\/p>\n Unless there is an immediate risk to health<\/a>, businesses who received bad ratings are given time to make changes so things improve. They can also ask to be re-inspected. Businesses are inspected in three areas. These are hygienic food handling including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage, the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and the building, as well as management of food safety to make sure it is okay to eat.<\/p>\n These are the food hygiene ratings for every McDonald’s, KFC and Burger King in the city.
