Manchester United<\/a> are refusing Barcelona<\/a>\u2019s attempt to sign Marcus Rashford<\/a> on loan in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Spain.<\/p>\n Rashford has just spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Aston Villa\u00a0after he was frozen out of United\u2019s first team by Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n Villa, who finished sixth in the Premier League and missed out on a place in next season\u2019s Champions League,\u00a0have an option to sign the 27-year-old for \u00a340 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n However, it\u2019s understood that Rashford is looking to join a Champions League club and Barcelona is his preferred destination<\/a>.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Rashford\u2019s brother, Dwaine Maynard, held talks with\u00a0Barcelona\u2019s\u00a0sporting director Deco at a hotel in the city<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Manchester United every day\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter. <\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your team in the link so we can send you football news tailored to you. <\/p>\n According to Sport<\/a>, Barcelona want to sign Rashford on loan and are unwilling to meet United\u2019s \u20ac40 million (\u00a333.7m) asking price.<\/p>\n \t\t The report claims that United are \u2018refusing to negotiate anything other than a permanent transfer\u2019 and are only likely to agree to a loan deal in the closing stages of the summer transfer window when all other opportunities have been explored.<\/p>\n Barcelona are now exploring the possibility of a paid loan which will include an option to buy next year.<\/p>\n Rashford is also willing to take a pay cut on his \u00a3350,000-a-week salary with United in order to secure a move to Barcelona, who won all three domestic trophies this season.<\/p>\n Both Deco and Hansi Flick, Barcelona\u2019s head coach, have approved Rashford\u2019s signing for the summer window.<\/p>\n When asked for his view on Rashford and Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, who Barcelona are also targeting<\/a>, Flick said last week: \u2018Both fantastic players.
