The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: India (+2.6% per year) and Japan (+0.7% per year).<\/p>\n<p>ImportsAsia-Pacific&#8217;s Imports of Potassium Nitrates<\/p>\n<p>Potassium nitrate imports soared to 82K tons in 2024, growing by 16% compared with the year before. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 23%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 102K tons. From 2021 to 2024, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.<\/p>\n<p>In value terms, potassium nitrate imports expanded rapidly to $98M in 2024. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when imports increased by 75% against the previous year. Thailand, Japan, Vietnam and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +21.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.<\/p>\n<p>Import Prices By Country<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $1,189 per ton, reducing by -6.6% against the previous year. Import price indicated modest growth from 2013 to 2024: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2024 figures, potassium nitrate import price decreased by -17.0% against 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2022 an increase of 53% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,433 per ton. From 2023 to 2024, the import prices failed to regain momentum.<\/p>\n<p>Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,760 per ton), while Indonesia ($700 per ton) was amongst the lowest.<\/p>\n<p>From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+2.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.<\/p>\n<p>ExportsAsia-Pacific&#8217;s Exports of Potassium Nitrates<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, potassium nitrate exports in Asia-Pacific skyrocketed to 122K tons, with an increase of 36% against 2023. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 165% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 145K tons. From 2018 to 2024, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.<\/p>\n<p>In value terms, potassium nitrate exports surged to $106M in 2024. In general, exports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when exports increased by 170%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $116M. From 2023 to 2024, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.<\/p>\n<p>Exports By Country<\/p>\n<p>China prevails in exports structure, recording 118K tons, which was approx. 96% of total exports in 2024. India (1.9K tons) took a little share of total exports.<\/p>\n<p>China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the potassium nitrates exports, with a CAGR of +15.1% from 2013 to 2024. At the same time, India (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. China (+14 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while India saw its share reduced by -2.9% from 2013 to 2024, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In value terms, China ($97M) remains the largest potassium nitrate supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($4.5M), with a 4.2% share of total exports.<\/p>\n<p>In China, potassium nitrate exports expanded at an average annual rate of +13.4% over the period from 2013-2024.<\/p>\n<p>Export Prices By Country<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $865 per ton, which is down by -14.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2022 an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,251 per ton. From 2023 to 2024, the export prices failed to regain momentum.<\/p>\n<p>There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries.
