But with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/tag\/championship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Championship<\/a> title now in the bag, Leeds will spend big this summer in an attempt to bridge the gap between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/tag\/premier-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> and England\u2019s second tier.<\/p>\n<p>The spine of this Leeds side is likely to be improved. A new goalkeeper, a partner for Joe Rodon, midfield depth, a better version of Brenden Aaronson in the 10 role and a proven striker will be targeted by Leeds.<\/p>\n<p>Aaronson impressed in the first half of the season, but his form and numbers dried up after the turn of the year. He ended the season with nine goals and two assists, despite starting 44 of 46 league games.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2198389845-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Inaki Esnaola\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-73645\" \/>Photo by Inaki Esnaola\/Getty ImagesAston Villa stance on Emi Buendia exit as Leeds eye move again<\/p>\n<p>Argentina international <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/tag\/emi-buendia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emi Buendia<\/a> is back at Aston Villa after an indifferent loan with Bayer Leverkusen during the second half of 2024-25. He returns to find he has fallen down the Villa pecking order, further.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/aston-villa-stance-on-leeds-united-signing-emi-buendia-in-january-transfer-window\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds wanted Buendia in January<\/a>, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/angus-kinnear-says-leeds-united-were-turned-down-by-40m-aston-villa-star-in-the-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buendia did not want to drop into the Championship<\/a>.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/40m-man-is-on-leeds-uniteds-radar-again-after-daniel-farke-admitted-he-really-rates-him\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Farke even broke his own rule of talking about rival players and praised Buendia<\/a>, saying he \u201creally rates\u201d the no.10.<\/p>\n<p>Hardly surprising, given Buendia made his career under Farke at Norwich. Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/40m-man-is-on-leeds-uniteds-radar-again-after-daniel-farke-admitted-he-really-rates-him\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds are back in the mix to sign Buendia<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/sport\/35198427\/aston-villa-keen-loan-out-emi-buendia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Sun<\/a> say Aston Villa are desperate to get rid of Buendia on loan this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The report says Leeds are keen on Villa\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/football\/article-9673573\/Aston-Villa-complete-40m-club-record-signing-Emiliano-Buendia-Norwich.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\u00a340m<\/a> signing as Farke eyes a reunion again. A remarkable 51 goals and assists in 77 games.
