Police and Paris Saint-Germain fans clashed in scary scenes with riots breaking out in France’s capital during and after the Champions League final.<\/strong><\/p>\n

PSG<\/a> stormed into a two-goal lead with just 20 minutes played against Inter Milan after goals from Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue.<\/p>\n

The French giants had never won the Champions League but they did so in style with a 5-0 thumping of the Italian club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Back home in Paris, it appears as though some fans kickstarted the celebrations early as they took to the streets.<\/p>\n

However, there were unsavoury scenes in the city as police stepped in to control the excited crowds.<\/p>\n

Videos on social media show PSG supporters running in front of cars on the motorway during the early stages of the second half.<\/p>\n

On the Champs Elysees, bus shelters were smashed up and projectiles were hurled at police.<\/p>\n

Tear gas and water cannons were used to push back surging crowds.<\/p>\n

Nearly 300 people had been arrested in the capital, with many more across the country.<\/p>\n

“Troublemakers on the Champs-Elysees were looking to create incidents and repeatedly came into contact with police by throwing large fireworks and other objects,” police said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Ousmane Dembele urged supporters to keep the peace as they celebrated.<\/p>\n

“Let’s celebrate this but not tear everything up in Paris,” Dembele told Canal+.<\/p>\n

One piece of footage shows a firework exploding around officers, and another sees some charging at supporters amid smoke and objects.<\/p>\n

The dramatic scenes came after fan violence in Munich ahead of kick-off.<\/p>\n

Inter and PSG fans fought on a train<\/a> and police in the German city had to use pepper spray.<\/p>\n

Second-half goals from Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu saw Luis Enrique’s men put the Serie A side to the sword.<\/p>\n

They have become the first side in European Cup and Champions League history to win a final five clear goals.<\/p>\n

PSG may not have been clear favourites to go all the way before the tournament started but have become deserved winners.<\/p>\n

Victories over clubs including Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal put them in a perfect position to get the job done in Munich.<\/p>\n

In addition, they are the second French club to win the Champions League after Marseille in 1993.<\/p>\n
