If it wasn\u2019t made for the bedroom, there\u2019s probably a good reason why.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s important to keep it safe: using regular household objects that aren\u2019t designed for bodies can be risky,\u2019 she explained.<\/p>\n \u2018Using items like hairbrushes to satisfy your sexual needs could lead to injuries, infections or other problems.<\/p>\n \u2018I\u2019d always advise opting for a purpose made sex toy, as you know it\u2019s made out of safe materials and crafted specifically for use in the bedroom.<\/p>\n \u2018Sex toys<\/a> are made using body-safe silicone or other safe materials, and go through rigorous and extensive testing to ensure that they are safe to use on your bodies.<\/p>\n \u2018Unsurprisingly, household objects have not gone through this process, so you\u2019re better off just using your hands if you don\u2019t have a sex toy, and for the love of God, don\u2019t put anything up your bum that doesn\u2019t have a flared base!\u2019<\/p>\n Honourable mentions<\/p>\n There are plenty of other household items used for sex that really shouldn\u2019t be.<\/p>\n A hairbrush was a common suggestion<\/a>, and it turns out 15% of women admit to using the hairbrush handle to masturbate \u2013 we assume as a makeshift dildo.<\/p>\n Cucumbers and carrots were also popular confessions.
