These were previously among conditions for the Fairer Share bonus.<\/p>\n
It means Nationwide customers may need to have been using their account during March, making payments with a debit card in shops and having direct debits go out.<\/p>\n
Last year, they needed to have a mortgage or savings account with Nationwide, and have at least \u00a3100 in savings, or owe at least \u00a3100 on a mortgage with them.<\/p>\n
Britain’s biggest building society looks set to announce whether the bonus scheme will return for 2025 on May 29.<\/p>\n
If it does, payments could then follow in June.<\/p>\n
Signs have been pointing to Fairer Share coming back this year, following a positive few months for Nationwide.<\/p>\n
Senior figures have outlined their “intention” for it to continue, while the financial strength of the building society following the takeover of Virgin Money has bosses content enough to hand out separate \u00a350 bonus payments to over 12 million customers in April.<\/p>\n
Earlier in March, Nationwide said it intends to make the payment annually “providing it would not be detrimental to the society\u2019s financial strength and subject to board approval, and hopes as many members as possible are eligible for the reward in the future”.<\/p>\n
