Two Scots who were gunned down <\/a>outside an Irish bar in a brutal gangland execution have been named as top members of the Lyons crime clan.<\/p>\n Underworld sources say that Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr are the two victims of the horror shooting.<\/a><\/p>\n The Glasgow hoods were shot dead in cold blood outside Monaghan’s pub in Fuengirola in the Costa Del Sol as horrified ex pats and holidaymakers looked on.<\/p>\n A masked gunman <\/a>reportedly jumped out a vehicle and fired rounds at the entrance to the bar killing Monaghan and Lyons Jnr.<\/p>\n The Record understands the shootings are linked to Scotland’s ongoing gangland war.<\/p>\n Ross Monaghan is registered as the owner of Monaghan’s pub which looks onto the beachfront in the popular holiday resort.<\/p>\n Punters were enjoying a drink after the Champions League final was shown on the big screens in the bar.<\/a><\/p>\n A masked gunman is reported to have got out of a car that screeched to a halt outside the bar before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle driven by an accomplice.<\/a><\/p>\n Authorities in Spain say the first victim was shot in the chest and the second in the chest and abdomen. The government’s sub-delegate in Malaga Javier Salas<\/a> also confirmed the two victims were Scottish.<\/p>\n Harrowing images from the scene show a man lying lifeless<\/a> on his back in shorts and a T-shirt by a drinks and meal blackboard on an outside terrace at the Irish bar.<\/p>\n In other disturbing images police and paramedics can be seen surrounding the body of one of the victims, thought to be the same man, after he was covered under a blanket as shocked locals and holidaymakers looked on.<\/a><\/p>\n There are no reports yet of any arrests, although police set up roadblocks in the area after the shooting to try to catch those responsible.<\/a><\/p>\n Earlier we told how the bar was owned by Monaghan who fled to the Costa Del Sol in 2017 after he was the victim of a gun attack outside a Glasgow primary school.<\/p>\n Monaghan is listed as the proprietor of the bar in an online business directory.<\/p>\n Monaghan was cleared of the murder of notorious Glasgow hood Kevin ‘Gerbil’ Carroll, who was shot dead in a brutal gangland assassination <\/a>in Asda Robroyston carpark in 2010.<\/p>\n Monaghan was tried for the killing, but was acquitted in May 2012.<\/p>\n He was also cleared of attempting to defeat the ends of justice by disposing of the two guns used in the shooting and torching the getaway car.<\/p>\n In August 2017 Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr were both cleared of being involved in a brutal street attack on three men outside the Campsie bar in Bishopbriggs. The brutal ambush left one of the victim’s ears hanging off.<\/a><\/p>\n But, the case collapsed after prosecutors withdrew the charges against them following two days of evidence.<\/a><\/p>\n The shock killings come amidst a violent gang war that has been raging in Scotland since March.<\/p>\n The feud first erupted following a fallout between rival gangsters after a \u00a3500k stash of cocaine was reportedly swiped from under the nose of Dubai-based Mr Big, Ross McGill.<\/p>\n The drugs were reportedly taken by caged Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson’s<\/a> foot soldiers sparking a series of violent attacks on homes and businesses.<\/p>\n Mr Big, who was later revealed as former Union Bears capo McGill waged war on Richardson and his associates, including the Daniels crime clan in Glasgow.<\/p>\n Mr Big’s enforcers, a faceless and frightening group going by the name of Tamo Junto (TMJ), have carried out a series of fire bombings and other vicious attacks on homes, businesses and cars associated with Richardson.<\/p>\n We reported earlier this week that a well-placed source said the Dubai-based Mr Big behind attacks on Daniel targets, Ross McGill, had agreed to end hostilities after being leaned on by cartel bosses in Dubai.<\/p>\n However gangland enforces Tamo Junto (TMJ) quickly quashed any talk of peace as they vowed to continue to carry out the turf war.<\/p>\n Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today.<\/p>\n You’ll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland.<\/p>\n No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team.<\/p>\n![\"Ross](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_TNP_SDR_160217_lyons_12JPG.jpg\")
