And there is one <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/infrastructure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skyscraper<\/a> that\u2019s recently been completed that is being described as a \u201ctrue masterpiece\u201d of architecture, and it\u2019s easy to see why.<\/p>\n<p>The building in question is <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehenderson.com.hk\/vision\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Henderson<\/a>. It is located in the heart of <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/hong-kong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hong Kong<\/a>, a huge <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/cities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mega-city<\/a> with more than 7 million people. The skyscraper, designed by <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zaha-hadid.com\/architecture\/2-murray-road\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zaha Hadid Architects<\/a>, stands 190 metres tall and has over 30 floors. Completed in <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/hong-kong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hong Kong\u2019s<\/a> busy Central district, the skyscraper has been hailed by its developers as the city\u2019s \u201cboldest new architectural masterpiece\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Estimated to have cost around \u00a310 billion to build, the sleek structure was inspired by the Bauhinia flower, the emblem of Hong Kong.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The unique form is supported by six mega-columns and an advanced steel structure, making it one of the most innovative office towers in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Patrik Schumacher, the Principal at Zaha Hadid Architects, said: \u201cWe had to create something extraordinary and unique, something 21st century and forward-looking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of the tower\u2019s most distinctive features is Cloud 39. It\u2019s an ultra-luxury rooftop ballroom set on the top floor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With a soaring eight-metre glass ceiling and panoramic views of the skyline, it\u2019s designed to host high-end events and weddings, complete with its own bridal suite, VIP lounge, and bespoke interior design by Studio Paolo Ferrari.<\/p>\n<p>Below the ballroom, visitors can explore a range of dining options. A fine-dining restaurant on the 38th floor, a contemporary eatery on the 5th, and a % Arabica caf\u00e9 in the lobby have all been designed to match the building\u2019s fluid, futuristic look.<\/p>\n<p>At street level, The Henderson is surrounded by landscaped gardens and open spaces. There is also a sky garden on the 22nd floor for tenants to unwind.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Twin lobbies filled with artwork, including Jeff Koons\u2019 famous Balloon Swan, provide an elegant welcome for guests arriving by foot or car.<\/p>\n<p>The building also has a state-of-the-art IT and security infrastructure developed in partnership with Microsoft, Arup, and UCS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It includes features such as real-time weather monitoring, energy-efficient systems, and future-proof connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>The Henderson sits at the centre of Hong Kong\u2019s financial hub, directly connected to major transport links including Central, Admiralty, and the Airport Express.<\/p>\n<p>According to the developers, The Henderson \u201cwill deservedly take its place among the world\u2019s most iconic buildings\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Massive infrastructure projects can sometimes be a thing of beauty.
