Simon Cowell has admitted his son Eric ‘saved him’ following the death of both his parents. The 65-year-old music mogul is the face of many TV<\/a> talent shows including Britain’s Got Talent<\/a>, which saw its latest series come to a close on Saturday night (May 31).<\/p>\n

Magician Harry Moulding won the heart’s of the nation<\/a> and was crowned the 2025 winner, walking away with \u00a3250,000 and a spot on the stage for the Royal Variety Performance.<\/p>\n

He performed in front of Simon Cowell, as well as Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and KSI, who was a guest judge on the 18th series of the ITV<\/a> show.<\/p>\n

But behind the scenes, Simon, who has an 11-year-old son Eric with his fianc\u00e9e Lauren Silverman, has admitted that becoming a father himself has “had a huge impact” on him.<\/p>\n

After losing his dad in 1999 and then his mother in 2015, he admitted that fatherhood saved him because he was able to have that sort of love again.<\/p>\n

He recently told PEOPLE: “[Fatherhood has] had a huge impact on me because I loved my parents so much, and once they left, I was kind of lost for a while, and then Eric kind of saved me.<\/p>\n

“Because that love comes back a hundred times more powerful.<\/p>\n

“I mean, it’s extraordinary and it never goes.<\/p>\n

“So I didn’t expect that, and when it happened, it was like, ‘Wow.’ I mean, it’s incredible.”<\/p>\n

The Syco founder has helmed the ‘Got Talent’ franchise since its inception almost 20 years ago, and has even found that his role as a judge on the American iteration of the competition series has “got easier” over time because he is able to incorporate things that his son might like into the show.<\/p>\n

He said: “[Being a judge on AGT] got easier since I became a dad, because as Eric got a little bit older… I suddenly started to watch acts through his eyes thinking, ‘Would he like that?’.<\/p>\n

“Because you want your kids and their friends to love the show. So when he comes down with his friends, they’re having the best time.<\/p>\n

“And that’s a great feeling.”<\/p>\n

What’s more, the former ‘X Factor’ judge – who has been responsible for introducing acts such as One Direction, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony to the world – has realised since starting a family that some things in life are “more important” than work.<\/p>\n

He said: “You realise that there are other things more important actually than your career.<\/p>\n

“I know it sounds corny, but I mean, it is the truth.
