Pensioners and punters were left stunned after a machete-wielding thug allegedly launched a vicious attack inside BJ\u2019s Bingo in Birmingham, leaving one man with a nearly severed arm.<\/p>\n

Police were quick to swoop on the venue on Mackadown Lane in Kitts Green just before 3pm on Friday, following reports of fighting in the arcade section. Armed officers and and paramedics raced to the scene, where one man was found with serious stab injuries.<\/p>\n

Shocked witnesses described scenes of total chaos inside. One person posted online: \u201cWe were there and a lad nearly had his arm chopped off with a machete. I\u2019ll be surprised if it\u2019s open tonight as it\u2019s got to be a crime scene now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another added: \u201cMachete attack at BJ\u2019s Bingo<\/a>, my mom and sister were locked in with other players. One taken to hospital, couple arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n

The popular bingo hall was quickly cordoned off as officers secured the scene. Elderly customers were spotted waiting outside, unable to leave while police carried out their investigation.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police later confirmed five arrests had been made. A spokesperson said: \u201cWe\u2019ve arrested five people following disorder in Mackadown Lane, Birmingham, this afternoon.<\/p>\n

We were called to reports of fighting at around 2.50pm and a man was discovered with stab wounds. He has been taken to hospital for his injuries to be assessed. We\u2019re in the early stages of our enquiries but five have been detained on suspicion of violent disorder.\u201d<\/p>\n

The force urged anyone with information to come forward by using Live Chat on their website or calling 101, quoting reference 2688 of 31\/5\/25.<\/p>\n

BJ\u2019s Bingo announced it would remain closed for the night, saying: \u201cDue to an ongoing police investigation following an incident earlier today, BJ\u2019s Bingo Kitts Green will be closed this evening.<\/p>\n
