Two British men gunned down in Spain in a horrific shooting have been named as infamous Scottish gangsters.<\/p>\n
Underworld sources say that Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr are victims of the brutal gangland execution in the Costa Del Sol.<\/p>\n
The pair – who are top members of the Lyons crime clan – are said to have been shot outside Monaghan’s pub, in Fuengirola.<\/p>\n
Terrified expats and holidaymakers looked on in shock as a masked gunman reportedly jumped out a vehicle and fired rounds at the entrance to the bar.<\/p>\n
It is understood the shootings are linked to Scotland’s ongoing gangland war.<\/p>\n
Monaghan is registered as the owner of Monaghan’s pub which looks onto the beachfront in the popular holiday resort.<\/p>\n
READ MORE:<\/strong> Robert Jenrick says ‘give prison officers lethal weapons to tackle Islamist extremists’<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Punters were enjoying a drink after the Paris Saint-Germain vs Inter Milan Champions League final which was shown on the big screens in the bar, Daily Record reports.<\/a><\/p>\n A car is said to have screeched to a halt outside the bar before the gunman fired shots and then fled in the same vehicle driven by an accomplice.<\/p>\n Authorities in Spain say the first victim was shot in the chest, while the second was shot in the chest and abdomen.<\/p>\n The government’s sub-delegate in Malaga Javier Salas confirmed the two victims were Scottish.<\/p>\n Chilling images from the scene show a man lying lifeless on his back in shorts and a T-shirt by a drinks and meal blackboard on an outside terrace at the Irish bar.<\/p>\n In other images, police and paramedics can be seen surrounding the body of one victim, thought to be the same man, after he was covered with a blanket.<\/p>\n There are no reports of any arrests yet – but police set up roadblocks in the area after the shooting to try to catch the culprit.<\/p>\n The bar was owned by Monaghan, who fled to the Costa Del Sol in 2017 after he was the victim of a gun attack outside a Glasgow primary school.<\/p>\n He is listed as the proprietor of the bar in an online business directory.<\/p>\n Monaghan was cleared of the murder of notorious Glasgow hood Kevin ‘Gerbil’ Carroll, who was shot dead in a gangland assassination in Asda<\/a> Robroyston carpark in 2010.<\/p>\n He was acquitted in May 2012.<\/p>\n
