Saudi chiefs are confident on reaching an agreement with Bruno Fernandes after positive talks with Al Hilal, talkSPORT understands.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Manchester United<\/a> skipper is believed to be consulting with his family before making final decision.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils are not publicly ruling out selling their talismanic playmaker, but yet to receive an offer.<\/p>\n

Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, held talks with Al-Hilal on Thursday and the United captain has been offered a contract worth \u00a365million-a-year.<\/p>\n

Discussions, described by Hilal sources as ‘productive’, took place at the Four Seasons in Riyadh, and talks ran into the evening.<\/p>\n

Hilal asked earlier in the week for an answer by Thursday as they look to firm up marquee signings ahead of the Club World Cup.<\/p>\n

The Saudi club are still waiting on Fernandes<\/a>‘ decision, but are pushing to secure his services in a \u00a3100million deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Saudi sources insist Fernandes is yet to reject their offer, adding significant efforts have been made in the last few days to try and get his green light.<\/p>\n

And United are aware that the next few days are going to be key in clarifying Fernandes future.<\/p>\n

Should Fernandes agree to the \u00a365m yearly deal, it would instantly see him earn the third-highest salary in world football behind only Cristiano Ronaldo<\/a> and Karim Benzema<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old midfielder said after the\u00a0Europa League\u00a0final defeat to Tottenham<\/a> that United may want to cash in on him after failing to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n

“I have always been honest, if the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is,” he began.<\/p>\n

“Football sometimes is like this. I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go.<\/p>\n

“I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to the great days. The day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it.<\/p>\n

“But I’ve always said it and I keep my word in the same way.”<\/p>\n

United<\/a> want to keep Fernandes, but are under pressure to sell to raise funds for a summer rebuild.<\/p>\n

Had the club beaten Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final, they would have qualified for the Champions League and the \u00a3100m income that it brings.<\/p>\n

Following the Europa defeat, talkSPORT reported that Fernandes and the man he replaced as club captain\u00a0have become disillusioned<\/a>\u00a0with the team’s owners.<\/p>\n

Al Hilal, who were 2023\/24 Saudi Pro League champions, are looking to make a splash at the Club World Cup in the US, having endured a difficult season.<\/p>\n

They’ve already surrendered their title to Al Ittihad, and have also lost record signing\u00a0Neymar\u00a0to Santos and more recently, star manager Jorge Jesus.<\/a><\/p>\n

Should they manage to secure Fernandes for \u00a3100m, it would a new record fee for the SPL, and also record sale for United.<\/p>\n

The club’s previous record departure was the \u00a380m\u00a0Real Madrid\u00a0paid for Ronaldo\u00a0in 2009.<\/p>\n

Such an income would facilitate drastic change in United’s squad, with the team close to sealing a deal for \u00a362.5million Wolves forward\u00a0Matheus Cunha.<\/a><\/p>\n
