King Charles<\/a>‘s “hot equerry”, Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Thompson, is now married to his fianc\u00e9e, Olivia Lewis<\/a>, reports have claimed. Major Johnny Thompson, often dubbed “Major Eye Candy” by royal fans for his brooding good looks, reportedly wed “glamorous” Olivia at a “quite, elegant and low-key” ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, last Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Mail on Sunday<\/a> reported that the ceremony was followed by a lunch and reception at Olivia’s parents’ nearby house. It also reported that the King was invited to the wedding and had no engagements last weekend.<\/p>\n

Major Johnny was snapped accompanying the monarch on his tour in Canada this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Olivia is a PR executive who used to work for Charles and Camilla, while her father, Simon Lewis, was the former communications head for Queen Elizabeth during the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death in 1997.<\/p>\n

The couple have kept their relationship largely away from the spotlight but were pictured together last summer before announcing their engagement in October.<\/p>\n

Charles’s “fabulous” aide has been making fans go wild<\/a> during his appearances alongside the monarch but was forced to move to a less “public-facing role” last year as he reportedly did not like the attention he received.<\/p>\n

At the time, a Palace source told the Times, that while he “remains senior equerry to the King and the Queen” he will be serving in a “more executive and less public-facing role”.<\/p>\n

Lt Col Thompson has been involved with the Royal Family for several years.<\/p>\n

He has been one of the 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland since 2006 and was previously one of the late Queen Elizabeth’s most senior bodyguards.<\/p>\n

Major Johnny has previously been featured in Tatler’s Social Power Index.<\/p>\n

The publication said: “The erstwhile Major Johnny has a fabulous sense of humour and looks as good in a suit as he does a kilt. It is from within the palace walls that the King\u2019s equerry wields his unique brand of quiet, charming power;<\/p>\n
