Manchester United\u2019s transfer window is off to a hot start but according to Rio Ferdinand, they\u2019ve already lost out on a player \u2018perfect for Ruben Amorim\u2019. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The transfer window has always been a game of dominoes and in Man Utd\u2019s<\/a> case this season, that\u2019s truer than ever because of their financial situation.<\/p>\n

They needed to prioritise a goalscoring No. 10 and Matheus Cunha\u2019s transfer<\/a> has given them exactly that, his fit at Man Utd a dream one<\/a>. <\/p>\n

However, in the process, they have lost out on a player who would have been perfect for Ruben Amorim\u2019s<\/a> system, according to Rio Ferdinand<\/a>. <\/p>\n

After signing a prolific No. 10, United\u2019s next priority is likely to be a centre-forward, especially after Liam Delap\u2019s rejection<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Then, it has been reported that another No. 10 is on United\u2019s agenda, which hints that Amorim sees Amad as his wing-back<\/a> in the long-term. <\/p>\n

As per Rio Ferdinand, speaking on his YouTube channel, that\u2019s not the right way to go about it, with Jeremie Frimpong standing as an example of the perfect Ruben Amorim player. <\/p>\n

Frimpong played in a back three system as a wing-back for Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen and signed for Liverpool for just around \u00a330 million, a bargain for his quality.<\/p>\n

Ferdinand said: \u201c[Frimpong going to Liverpool] will hurt me a little bit. He just fits how Ruben Amorim wants to play perfectly. A centre-forward and a central midfielder should be next. An experienced No. 9, I\u2019d be advising the transfer team to get an experienced No. 9 next.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim has already answered Rio Ferdinand\u2019s worries<\/p>\n

It goes without saying that Ferdinand is absolutely correct in his assertion of Frimpong being ideal for Amorim\u2019s system. <\/p>\n

However, there shouldn\u2019t be any panic upon losing him because Amorim has already laid out United\u2019s transfer plans clearly. <\/p>\n

The Man Utd manager<\/a> has repeatedly stressed that not everything can be changed in a single transfer window, especially after failure to qualify for Europe. <\/p>\n

United will prioritise and fill positions of urgent need first, and right wing-back is certainly not one of those at the moment. <\/p>\n

Not only does Amad look great there<\/a>, but Diogo Dalot is a solid, if slightly underwhelming option to play there, with Noussair Mazraoui\u2019s Swiss-army knife skills also valuable. <\/p>\n

That is in stark contrast to having just Rasmus Hojlund as the senior striker, or a lack of goals from midfield, issues United are addressing on priority. <\/p>\n
