Gary Player has delivered another one of his all-time rants on Thursday morning at Augusta National.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With The Masters<\/a> in full swing and Justin Rose leading Scottie Scheffler after day one<\/a>, legends have been everywhere on the hallowed greens.<\/p>\n

One of those icons is the 89-year-old Player, who teed off in the annual honorary starters ceremony with fellow legends Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson to kick this year’s tournament off.<\/p>\n

Later, they answered a round of media questions and it took a bizarre turn.<\/p>\n

A reporter asked Player when the last time he had fast food was, mentioning that in 1997 when Tiger Woods<\/a> won the Masters, he claimed he ate Arby’s every night.<\/p>\n

Player’s response is one to behold.<\/p>\n

“Well, you don’t reach 90 as I do if you eat a bunch of crap. I can tell you that. But that’s your choice. Everybody has a choice. I want to live to 100 because I love people. I love golf. I just love life,” Player said.<\/p>\n

“I’ve got a young girlfriend — I’ve changed my life. How about that, at 90, finding a girlfriend? Tom is not as old as me, but he’s also found a new one.”<\/p>\n

Player’s bizzare rant didn’t stop there.<\/p>\n

“I’ll tell you what, guys, you all — you or your wife is going to die. One of the spouses are going to die, and it’s not the end of life,” Player added.<\/p>\n

“So many people that does happen and they get so disheartened that they don’t think they should continue life,” he said.<\/p>\n

Player did not stop there. He even added he’s got a list of things that he is working on to help reach 100.<\/p>\n

“The greatest gift bestowed upon a man or woman is life. So my ambition is to reach 100,” he said.<\/p>\n

“So I went to India and I met a gerontologist, and he gave me 11 things to work on, which I adhere to.<\/p>\n

“So I might drop dead tomorrow, but I’m giving it a hell of a try.”<\/p>\n

Many are used to Player’s remarkable life lessons. And when you’re 89 and still able to tee it up on a golf course, he can lecture everyone about how to live a long life.<\/p>\n

Not to mention the fact he is also a nine-time Major champion having won three Open Championships, three Masters, two PGA Championships, and one U.S. Open.<\/p>\n

He is also one of only five golfers to achieve the career Grand Slam.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Woods won’t able to offer his own opinion on the fast food subject as he is not playing at the Masters this year.<\/p>\n

Woods ruptured his Achilles<\/a>\u00a0in mid-March in a blow that could end up seeing him miss the entire major season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 49-year-old\u00a0was preparing to feature in The Masters before looking to tee it up in the PGA Championship<\/a>, US Open<\/a> and The Open.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Defending champion Scheffler trails Rose<\/a> by three strokes after the former US Open champion produced the round of the day on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Ludvig Aberg, Corey Conners, Tyrrell Hatton<\/a> and Bryson DeChambeau also enjoyed impressive starts to the week.<\/p>\n
