A man in his 70s is in a London hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash.<\/p>\n
The incident happened in London Road near to the Queens Avenue junction in Maidstone yesterday (June 1) at around 2.45pm.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the scene, and the road was closed for several hours after a grey Chevrolet Orlando car and a white Fiat 500 collided.<\/p>\n
The force confirmed a second man sustained minor injuries which required treatment at a local hospital.<\/p>\n
Two fire engines also attended and used equipment to release one person who was trapped in a car.<\/p>\n
He was then passed into the care of paramedics, and crews left the scene just after 5pm.<\/p>\n
One eyewitness told KentOnline he had to get off the bus outside The Pippin Pub due to the incident, which saw the road closed in both directions.<\/p>\n
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.<\/p>\n
