{"id":152783,"date":"2025-06-02T18:43:12","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T18:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/152783\/"},"modified":"2025-06-02T18:43:12","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T18:43:12","slug":"the-big-new-plan-for-greengate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/152783\/","title":{"rendered":"The big new plan for Greengate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A property developer has shared new plans<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_JS141843451-1.jpg\" alt=\"Greengate has seen huge changes in recent years.\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Greengate has seen huge changes in recent years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Part of Salford\u2019s Greengate neighbourhood could become home to the city\u2019s next major development under new plans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A 52,000 sq ft site off Trinity Way has been earmarked for huge change in the future, after the land was bought by property developer Salboy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The site is currently used as a Renault car dealership, with a showroom and surface car parking space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">But in recent years Greengate has turned into one of the most desirable parts of Greater Manchester to live in, with new apartment and office blocks offering access to Manchester and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/salford\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Salford<\/a> city centres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Salboy has already built hundreds of apartments in the neighbourhood &#8211; and says there is still high demand for quality housing in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Some of the firm\u2019s work in Salford includes the 26-storey tower block, Obsidian, which is due to finish by late 2026, and the 18-storey Fifty5ive building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The new development will be its fifth in eight years in the Greengate area<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_JS371248180.jpg\" alt=\"The Renault dealership on Trinity Way, Salford.\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The Renault dealership on Trinity Way, Salford.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The company said its work has pumped more than \u00a3185m of development value into the area, with 1,350 people living in homes it has created.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">While Salboy has not revealed the specifics of its plans for the land, the firm said it wants to build on a record of creating \u2018vibrant, connected communities\u2019 in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Simon Ismail, co-founder and managing director at Salboy, added: &#8220;This site represents an excellent opportunity to deliver another high-quality development that contributes to the ongoing transformation of Trinity Way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Designs are being made for the transformation of the land, which includes checking different building heights to make sure the scheme fits in with the local area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Salboy said more detail about the proposed development will be announced as the design moves forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Salford council also has big plans for the Greengate neighbourhood, and recently revealed a \u00a32m scheme to make more green and open spaces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In an <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/news\/greater-manchester-news\/this-once-manchesters-car-park-31704596\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">interview with the Local Democracy Reporting Service<\/a>, Coun Mike McCusker said what was once \u201cManchester\u2019s car park\u201d is becoming a place where more people want to live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cSomeone described it recently as more like London than Salford, but you could say it might look better than some parts of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-city-centre\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester city centre<\/a>, because we\u2019re starting from a blank slate with a load of car parks,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cIt\u2019s all about building a place that people want to live in, all the stuff around parks and creating a boulevard to link different bits together, so much around this being a high-quality area with great access through to Manchester city centre.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A property developer has shared new plansGreengate has seen huge changes in recent years.
