A person living in a house in West Derby have been left ‘badly shaken’ after shots were fired at their home. Police reported that nobody was injured in the ‘reckless act’ on Leyfield Road.<\/p>\n

It was reported to police that a man wearing a balaclava had approached a house on Leyfield Road<\/a> and opened fire – causing damage to the front door.<\/p>\n

The male is described as wearing dark clothing and riding a Sur-Ron bike.<\/p>\n

This evening (June 2), police forensic officers and detective inspectors could be seen investigating the area in front of a property on Leyfield Road, as well as examining a vehicle. A cordon was in place on the street.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “An investigation is underway and house-to-house, witness and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area. There are road closures in the local area while enquiries are being carried out.”<\/p>\n

Chief Inspector Dave Currie said: \u201cThankfully was nobody injured but this was clearly a reckless act which could have had serious if not fatal consequences. The occupier of the house has been left badly shaken by the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not acceptable behaviour and we will do everything within our powers to find who the person is and bring him to justice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be speaking with people living locally and would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or thinks they captured something on their Ring doorbell or CCTV to contact us.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimilarly we would ask taxi or delivery drivers who were in the area of Leyfield Road this evening who thinks the recorded something on their dashcam to get in touch.\u201d<\/p>\n
