James Corden purchased an \u00a38 million property four years ago near the leafy and affluent area of Henley-On-Thames.<\/p>\n

The home, known as Templecombe House, is a 1960s art-deco style property that the actor bought with ambitious renovation plans.<\/p>\n

Corden intended to tear down and renovate the structure entirely to create what he envisioned as his forever home.<\/p>\n

He planned to move into the renovated property with his wife Julia Carey and their three children, Max, Carey and Charlotte.<\/p>\n

The actor required multiple permissions from Wokingham Borough Council for his extensive renovation plans, which understandably took considerable time to process. <\/p>\n

Corden and his team of builders and architects reportedly received the green light in 2023 to proceed with creating his forever home.<\/p>\n

However, recent aerial photographs reveal that renovations are taking much longer than anticipated.<\/p>\n

The structure is yet to be torn down despite the planning approval being granted over a year ago, showing minimal visible progress on the ambitious project.<\/p>\n

This apparent lack of progress has upset locals who became incensed upon reading news reports that Corden is to fly back Stateside later this summer for a temporary stint on Broadway. <\/p>\n

Residents feel the Gavin and Stacey actor has “abandoned” the home.<\/p>\n

The couple and their kids moved back to the UK after living in the US whilst James recorded his Late Late show <\/p>\n

Local landlady Jayne Worral told the Daily Mail: “He should live in it or sell it so a family can live in it.<\/p>\n

“It’s shameful to buy anywhere with that sort of standing and then have no one benefit from living in it. He should be ashamed. It’s not fair.”<\/p>\n

Another local, Sue Harris, said it would be a “shame” if the actor were to abandon the structure entirely.<\/p>\n

“It would be a shame if he left it empty, as we get a lot of characters wanting to live here.”<\/p>\n

Another resident told the publication: “He created a huge fuss around wanting the plans to go through how he wanted. Now he is leaving.”<\/p>\n

Corden and his family resided in the US for many years while he hosted his successful late-night talk show, The Late Late Show.<\/p>\n

The actor decided to pack up his home in LA and move back to the UK on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n

He is now heading back across the pond for a few months towards the end of this year after landing a role in the Broadway play, ART.<\/p>\n

Corden and Carey will keep their base in London, plus their ongoing Henley project.<\/p>\n
