Rio Ferdinand has singled out three Manchester United players who could be sold in the summer after the arrival of Matheus Cunha in Ruben Amorim\u2019s squad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim<\/a> is a big admirer of Matheus Cunha<\/a> and the 26-year-old Brazilian attacker had been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford<\/a> in 2025.<\/p>\n

Manchester United completed the transfer of Cunha<\/a> from Wolves after the Red Devils agreed to pay out the Brazilian forward\u2019s \u00a362.5m release clause.<\/p>\n

Cunha will put pen to paper on a five-year contract with United and the former Wolves star is Amorim\u2019s first major signing of the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

The Brazil international will offer a versatile attacking option for Amorim\u2019s tactical system for United<\/a> after Cunha\u2019s superb season with Wolves.<\/p>\n

Cunha netted an impressive 17 times and picked up six assists in 36 matches across all competitions in the 2024-25 season for Premier League side Wolves.<\/p>\n

Manchester United\u2019s spending in the summer transfer window could be limited due to the Premier League\u2019s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) that are in place.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils finished in 15th place in the Premier League table last season and United failed to secure European football for the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Rio Ferdinand<\/a> admitted that Matheus Cunha\u2019s arrival could cast uncertainty around the futures of Marcus Rashford<\/a>, Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> and Kobbie Mainoo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: \u201cThe only thing I would say in this window is that \u00a360m in this window, it will remain to be seen what type of work gets done when you\u2019re spending a big chunk like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs much as I\u2019m happy with it, it means [there] are going to be some going out of the door and it means there\u2019s going to be somebody like Garnacho or Kobbie Mainoo\u2026 and Marcus Rashford.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be the players that will be going, I think, so when you look at it, it\u2019s a lot of money.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut where are you going to get players that can come and affect your first-team for that type of money?\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcus Rashford is widely tipped to leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window after spending the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old England international lost his place in the starting XI under Ruben Amorim and Rashford has been linked with Barcelona<\/a> in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Garnacho\u2019s future has also been plunged into doubt after the 20-year-old Spain-born attacker\u2019s comments following United\u2019s 2025 Europa League final defeat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kobbie Mainoo is under contract with United<\/a> until 2027 and the 20-year-old England international has been linked with Chelsea amid discussions around a new deal.<\/p>\n
