And if you get a little carried away, you&#8217;ll get a little,\u00a0&#8216;Please respect.&#8217; &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>While the six-time major winner referred to the scream as &#8216;smashed potato,&#8217; the generally recognized term is best known as &#8216;mashed potatoes.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>And it is screamed with pure fire when a golfer hits a tee shot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mashed potatoes guy and Baba Booey guy should be escorted out in handcuffs,&#8221; a fan tweeted. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anyone yelling like that at a golf event should be kicked out,&#8221; a second fan posted. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s the equivalent of asking a band to play Free Bird,&#8221; a third fan wrote. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In no particular order, mashed potatoes, get in the hole, Baba Booey, and sweep the leg Johnny &#8212; ban them all,&#8221; a fourth fan said. &#8220;All should come with a two-strike warning. First strike is a year long ban. They\u2019re not fans, they\u2019re morons.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Others loved it.<\/p>\n<p>Nick Faldo picks his Masters favorite and \u2018puts a tenner\u2019 on dark horse winner<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I can&#8217;t stop watching this video LOL,&#8221; a fan wrote. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Best laugh I&#8217;ve had in a while. LOL Mashed Potatoes!!!!!!!!&#8221; a second fan posted.<\/p>\n<p>The Masters has a unique set of rules, which includes not being allowed to run or <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/golf\/3085307\/masters-craziest-rule-fans-augusta-scheffler-mcilroy-tiger-pga\/#:~:text=%22As%20soon%20as%20you%20get,The%20Masters%20on%20the%20grass.%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sit on the grass<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Where&#8217;d you ever hear of a golf tournament where you can&#8217;t sit on the grass?&#8221; said Bob Bubka, talkSPORT&#8217;s voice of golf. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No sitting allowed at\u00a0The Masters\u00a0on the grass.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While Faldo would prefer for the &#8216;smashed potato&#8217; scream to be banned, he was filled with overall praise for a <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/golf\/3080710\/masters-netflix-tv-pga-augusta-full-swing-secret-scheffler\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">secretive tournament <\/a>that dates back to 1934. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some things they do\u00a0so well, which I absolutely love,&#8221; Faldo said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just basically the players inside the ropes &#8212; it&#8217;s you and your caddie. I mean, the still photographers have to go to zones, they&#8217;re not actually inside the ropes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s no\u00a0advertising boards. It&#8217;s just a beautiful golf course.\u00a0It&#8217;s pristine from wall to wall. The outer walls that you don&#8217;t see &#8212; I&#8217;ve toured with obviously television driving around &#8212; you don&#8217;t see a wire, a piece of litter.\u00a0I mean, it&#8217;s at zero. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You will not see anything out of place, which I think is astonishing, fantastic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Except for someone potentially screaming &#8216;mashed potatoes&#8217; among the brightly colored azaleas and perfectly trimmed green grass. <\/p>\n<p>The 2025 Masters runs through Sunday. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tradition and beauty go hand-in-hand at The Masters.
