{"id":154066,"date":"2025-06-03T06:05:15","date_gmt":"2025-06-03T06:05:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/154066\/"},"modified":"2025-06-03T06:05:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T06:05:15","slug":"queen-margrethe-makes-rare-solo-appearance-following-health-scare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/154066\/","title":{"rendered":"Queen Margrethe makes rare solo appearance following health scare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Queen Margrethe of Denmark has made a rare solo appearance just weeks after she was rushed to hospital and missed several engagements.  <\/p>\n<p>The 85-year-old former monarch stepped out as she visited Sofieskolen, a school specialising for children with autism for which she has been a patron since 1964. <\/p>\n<p>Margrethe was hospitalised from May 8 to May 10 after contracting \u201ca cold\u201d and was admitted for the purpose of \u201cobservation as a precaution\u201d.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer Majesty is well and is now back in her residence at Fredensborg Palace,\u201d the Danish royal family later announced. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"d7184\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"b35c73edb5e5c69f62b2897eee4cd0f7\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%202000%201500'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/queen-margrethe.jpg\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\" alt=\"Queen Margrethe\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Queen Margrethe stepped out just weeks after she was hospitalised for a cold <\/p>\n<p>Getty<\/p>\n<p>The former monarch was seen alongside other Danish royals as they stood on the Palace balcony as part of her son King Frederik\u2019s 57th birthday celebrations.  <\/p>\n<p>Now, the former monarch has embarked on a solo visit to support one of her most treasured causes.  <\/p>\n<p>She was attending the Sofieskolen in the Copenhagen suburb of Bagsv\u00e6rd as students had prepared an exhibition with the theme: \u201cA royal universe\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>In a post documenting her trip, the Danish Palace said she: \u201cExperienced the many creative works that the students had created with inspiration from Her Majesty&#8217;s artistic work, the royal family and the royals castles\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"d7b28\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"907604374e0593712106b6d2dfa17e38\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%20700%201245'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/queen-margrethe.png\" width=\"700\" height=\"1245\" alt=\"Queen Margrethe\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The former monarch made a solo visit to Sofieskolen, a school specialising for children with autism<\/p>\n<p>Sofieskolen, Keld Navntoft<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe opening marked the end of a theme week, where the students have worked with both history, architecture and art.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer Majesty Queen Margrethe has been the patron of the Sofieskolen since 1968.
