A man questioned for murder after the death of a woman using a \u2018suicide pod\u2019 has taken his own life.<\/p>\n
Dr Florian Willet was arrested last September<\/a> over the death of a 64-year-old woman who died in a Sarco pod in a forest near\u00a0Merishausen, Switzerland<\/a>.<\/p>\n She was allegedly found inside with strangulation marks on her neck<\/a>. Willet, 47, was the only person present for the woman\u2019s death.<\/p>\n The woman was the first person to use the \u2018suicide pod\u2019<\/a>, which kills its inhabitants with nitrogen gas.<\/p>\n Willet, who was a strong advocate for euthanasia, is the president of The Last Resort, which operates Sarco \u2013 but despite voluntary assisted suicide being legal in Switzerland, prosecutors have said the pod could be banned<\/a>.<\/p>\n He was arrested when police arrived at the scene of the woman\u2019s death and was kept in custody while officers investigated. The public prosecutor said there was a \u2018strong suspicion\u2019 that \u2018intentional homicide\u2019 was involved.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t
