Prince Harry regrets joint decision with Prince William about mum Diana<\/p>\n
Prince Harry appears to be mulling over some past mistakes as the Duke of Sussex jumps into action to make up for some of the decisions he made.<\/p>\n
The Duke of Sussex once shared a close relationship with his elder brother, Prince William, but that relationship was torn apart after Harry had left the royal family in 2020 to settle in the US.<\/p>\n
The siblings, who were determined to keep the memory of their late mother alive with big charitable moves, are not even on speaking terms. Both the princes have been making efforts to continue Diana\u2019s legacy but Harry feels there is one major mistake that they made.<\/p>\n
Harry \u201cdeeply regret[s]\u201d auctioning off 79 of his mother\u2019s gowns with brother Prince William back in 1997, according to an insider quoted by Woman\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
According to the report, Harry was left fuming when he found out about the latest auction which is supposed to feature more than 200 iconic pieces of Princess Diana.<\/p>\n
Conducted by Julien\u2019s Auctions, the auction will take place on June 26 in Beverly Hills, US, with a portion of proceeds going to charity.<\/p>\n
The source stated that ever since he left the royal life behind, he had developed a \u201cdeep need to feel close to his mum\u201d which is why he no longer wants to give away anything associated to her.<\/p>\n
Moreover, Harry has jumped into action as he is on a \u201cmission\u201d to reclaim Diana\u2019s possessions and his wife Meghan Markle is \u201cencouraging it\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe can now see they\u2019re vital threads of his mother\u2019s enduring legacy,\u201d the insider said.<\/p>\n
The report comes on the heels of news that Harry was considering to assume his mother\u2019s family name \u2018Spencer\u2019 and drop \u2018Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019 amid the growing royal rift. According to Daily Mail\u2019s Richard Eden, Harry\u2019s uncle, Charles Spencer, had stopped his nephew from taking such a drastic step citing \u201clegal hurdles\u201d.<\/p>\n
