Everton are set for a transformative summer transfer window. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Friedkin Group are ready to invest heavily in David Moyes\u2019 squad<\/a> as they look to push Everton<\/a> up the table. <\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s just surfaced that Arne Slot has met with an Everton target, putting Moyes and his chiefs on the back foot.<\/p>\n

Everton have been tracking Lyon\u2019s Rayan Cherki<\/a>, who has been labelled a \u2018superstar\u2019, for weeks now and have been informed that it\u2019d take \u00a334m to strike a deal.<\/p>\n

Cherki walked off the pitch in tears<\/a> during the final game of the season, so evidently, he knows he will be leaving the club this summer.<\/p>\n

The Toffees were given hope of signing Cherki<\/a> over the weekend as it emerged that he had reservations about joining Manchester City.<\/p>\n

But now, according to The Athletic<\/a>, it could be Liverpool who steal in and sign Cherki as Arne Slot recently left his holiday to hold talks with the French playmaker.<\/p>\n

Slot met the 21-year-old in the South of France, but it seems as though they\u2019re more focused on completing the Florian Wirtz deal.<\/p>\n

Cherki looks off the table for Everton<\/p>\n

Even if Liverpool opt for Wirtz over Cherki, it still looks like a really difficult deal to do for the Toffees, as Manchester City are still well-placed to land his signature. <\/p>\n

Despite there being some uncertainty on Cherki\u2019s side about making the switch to the Etihad, there is an acceptance that an agreement will be found. <\/p>\n

James McAtee looks like a more realistic option for Moyes<\/a>, with the 2002-born left out of City\u2019s Club World Cup squad.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Sheffield United\u2019s Gustavo Hamer is also on Everton\u2019s radar<\/a>, so there are plenty of Cherki alternatives.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
