Product shot isolated on white.\" height=\"960\" width=\"640\" data-credit=\"\" data-img=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2DA1CXAjpg-JS883058976.jpg\" data-caption=\"To keep their access to Netflix Brits will have to upgrade to a newer model\"   loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2DA1CXAjpg-JS883058976.jpg\" role=\"img\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3<\/p>\n<p>To keep their access to Netflix Brits will have to upgrade to a newer model<\/p>\n<p>An email should have been sent to Brits who are due to lose access to their Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix said: &#8220;Netflix will be discontinuing support for some first-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/35078638\/amazon-appstore-android-google-play-apps-closing-shutting-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fire TV devices<\/a>, which were introduced more than 10 years ago. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Netflix remains available on all other Fire TV devices.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Some of the older devices have stopped being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/35169615\/free-streaming-app-tubi-june-fire-stick\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supported by Amazon<\/a> already and haven&#8217;t received and update since 2021. <\/p>\n<p>The devices will still work as normal but will lose access to Netflix with the app no longer working on the old platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Other streaming apps will still be avaliable on the old devices with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/35122192\/disney-plus-1000-fine-sports-boost-tv-licence-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disney+<\/a>, BBC iPlayer, Prime Video and ITV Hub continuing to work for now. <\/p>\n<p> When upgrading to a new model users can send their old device to Amazon for a massive 20% off at checkout. <\/p>\n<p>Newer platforms will still support Netflix and get updates with new and interesting features. <\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/35206792\/sky-reveals-huge-speed-boost-for-routers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upgrade your device<\/a> then you should cancel your subscription to avoid paying for tech you aren&#8217;t using. <\/p>\n<p>Where to buy a Fire TV Stick<\/p>\n<p>Fire TV Sticks are an easy way to add streaming to an older television.
