One woman suffered an injury to her face and had to be taken to hospital after a fight broke out in a street in Bristol yesterday evening<\/a>, Monday, June 2.<\/p>\n

Police were called to Gainsborough Square, in Lockleaze<\/a>, at around 7.20pm to reports of a disturbance.<\/p>\n

A brawl broke out involving two women and a man with one of the women suffering a cut to the face<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She was taken to hospital for treatment but her injury is not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.<\/p>\n

Three people have since been arrested in relation to the incident and at the time of reporting, remain in police custody.<\/p>\n

One woman, aged 36, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n

Two other people, a man and woman both aged 35, were arrested on suspicion of affray.<\/p>\n

At the time of the incident, BristolLive<\/a> was told there was a large police presence presence.<\/p>\n

They said: “There are nine marked police cars and at least two unmarked.”<\/p>\n

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage to come forward.<\/p>\n

Neighbourhood policing Detective Chief Inspector Keith Smith said: \u201cWe understand incidents of this nature can be concerning for the local community but we would like to reassure them we are conducting an in-depth investigation into what happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree people have been arrested and all remain in police custody. One woman, aged 36, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n

“Two other people, a man and woman both aged 35, were arrested on suspicion of affray.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur neighbourhood officers will be conducting high-visibility reassurance patrols in the area over the coming days and I urge and concerned residents to approach our officers with any questions they may have.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers will also be conducting house-to-house enquiries and a CCTV trawl in Gainsborough Square and the nearby Constable Road.<\/p>\n
