{"id":15482,"date":"2025-04-13T03:42:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-13T03:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/15482\/"},"modified":"2025-04-13T03:42:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-13T03:42:21","slug":"tesla-car-destroyed-in-london-protest-targeting-elon-musk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/15482\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla car destroyed in London protest targeting Elon Musk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>LONDON<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A group protesting controversial US tech billionaire Elon Musk destroyed a Tesla vehicle in London on Thursday during a demonstration billed as a \u201cpublic art project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Everyone Hates Elon campaign group smashed the secondhand car with sledgehammers and baseball bats, inviting others to join in. \u201cTherapy is expensive, but this is free,\u201d read a poster promoting the event.<\/p>\n<p>The group said that it offered people a way to &#8220;safely and legally&#8221; destroy a Tesla and that the vandalized car will be auctioned to raise money for local food banks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are more billionaires than ever before and there are more food banks than ever before. These things are obviously connected,&#8221; said a group spokesperson, according to local media.<\/p>\n<p>On its Instagram post ahead of the action, the group also noted that they used a Tesla that was already destined for scrap.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a controlled, supervised art installation with proper safety measures in place,&#8221; it added.<\/p>\n<p>The group has gained attention by distributing posters and stickers with anti-Musk slogans such as \u201cDon\u2019t buy a Swasticar,\u201d \u201cGoes from 0 to 1939 in 3 seconds,\u201d and \u201cX marks the rot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Teslas have also been destroyed elsewhere, including in a fire in Rome that destroyed 17 cars and is suspected to be arson.
